WHEN DEPLOYMENT CANNOT LEAD TO DERAILMENT.

Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is responsible for the PlayStation brand and family of products, and oversees Worldwide Studios, responsible for developing exclusive, world-class games for PlayStation. Today’s gamers have withdrawals when it comes to downtime, so Sony turned to 3|SHARE to make sure the Playstation site never experiences a dark moment.

PLAY TIME NEVER ENDS.

PLAY TIME NEVER ENDS.

When it comes to web traffic, it doesn’t get much busier than the Sony Playstation site, playstation.com. There are over 690,000,000 visitors per month being served in over 40 languages. So, while the digital platform is tasked with serving millions of requests - with no break in the action, ever - providing for fast, efficient updates and deployments is no easy task. Executing manual deployments runs a real risk of damaging or crashing the site. And, ceaseless monitoring is obviously crucial, as it’s unacceptable for such a high-profile site to be down.

ROM TO THE RESCUE.

ROM TO THE RESCUE.

The 3|SHARE Remote Operations Management (ROM) team worked with the Playstation.com team and created a fully automated deployment system to handle code deployments complete with: Load Balancer controls, AEM Code Deployment, restarts, cache clear and site validation. Code deployments are now a single button process, completed in about 30 minutes with no negative impact to the consumer-facing site.

GAME ON.

GAME ON.

The 3|SHARE Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) solution significantly mitigated risk that arises from continual changes. Implementing an efficient update process allows the playstation.com team to focus on keeping their site up-to-date with the latest video game tech. Put simply, we eliminated all errors in the deployment process, thus downtime attributed to these deployments is avoided. We delivered world-class results for a globally renowned brand.

“Customers love our extensive knowledge, skill level, constant availability and reliability.”
